Finals and Grades

The quarter is finally over. Finals week wasn't too bad for me this quarter. The only two I was really worried about was my jury and music history. I was trying to level up this quarter on my jury and I did it! I'm really happy about that. It's harder to level up here than at Morehead. I think I did really good on my music history final as well. Anyways, I got my grades last night and I couldn't be happier. I got A's in my lessons, Single Reeds, Percussion, and band. I got a B+ in Instrumental Music Methods and I got A-'s in Conducting II and Music History. That's right, you heard me: I got an A- in Music History! How awesome is that?! I've never got anything but C's in that class, so I figured I needed to brag. I'm sure I won't post again until after spring break, so I hope everybody has a good one.

New Mouthpiece

I got my refund check yesterday. 155 dollars. Yes! So I decided to go mouthpiece shopping. Yes, I do already have a nice gold-plated Helleburg Mouthpiece. The problem is that it has a huge cup. This would be really great on a contrabass tuba, but I play on an F. So I need a much smaller mouthpiece for it in order to play in tune. I ordered a Bach 30E mouthpiece with a gold-plated rim and cup. Joe will drill out the shank for me and it will be great. He let me play on his mouthpiece that he uses for his F and it sounded great. I also bought more valve oil and the Trumpet Arban's book. I hate you Arban! Anyways, with the purchasing of groceries today, most of my refund check is now gone. But I will have my mouthpiece within a week, which excites me.
